Leica HawkEye III Deep Bathymetric LiDAR Sensor
The most efficient and powerful sensor for deep bathymetric surveying
The world’s most competent deep water bathymetry solution
The Leica HawkEye III is an airborne multi-sensor deep water bathymetric and topographic LiDAR system, based on the competence of the Leica Chiroptera II. The Leica HawkEye III captures full waveform in all channels: deep bathy, shallow bathy and topography. Additionally, the system can be combined with the Leica RCD30 medium format 80 megapixel camera.
From shore to deep waters
Collect seabed data from the air down to 50m with the 3.0 Secchi depth penetration capability of the Leica HawkEye III .
- 10 kHz bathymetric channel
Acquire accuracy and data density in deep water surveying down to 50 metres depth - 35 kHz bathymetric channel
Optimise coastal mapping and shallow water surveys down to 25 metres depth - 500 kHz topographic channel
Collect the required detail and resolution for your topographic LiDAR application
The system features unique oblique LiDAR technology that illuminates objects from multiple angles, minimising shadowing in the data. Oblique LiDAR is also superior for feature detection on land and in water. The Leica HawkEye III is a simple-to-use sensor optimised for the most demanding survey requirements.
Territorial water and nautical charting surveying application
High resolution and accuracy make the Leica HawkEye III the perfect tool for mapping, planning, maintaining and managing all national waters and coastal regions. Nautical charting of nearshore and coastal zones and characterisation and mapping prior to infrastructure and constructional work are therefore typical applications of the Leica HawkEye III.
Climate change, urban area, environmental protection
The effect of global warming significantly impacts coastal regions, making airborne laser scanning increasingly important for environmental monitoring. A cost-effective solution for environmental and habitat mapping over large areas, the Leica HawkEye III enables flood simulations and change detection.
Fast and automated workflow
The Leica LiDAR Survey Studio (Leica LSS) turns data processing of waveform and position data, calibrations, correcting refraction and incorporating four-band camera data into a fast and automated workflow. Manage projects, analyse data and create point clouds with maximum efficiency, using one intuitive interface.
Data sets: Point cloud in elevation, RGB, CIR and NIR view
